Carolina Caballero is an influential payments industry leader (Payments Source most influential women in payments 2020), focused on execution and relationship building with a creative “can do” mentality and over 20 years of experience in financial services.  

Carolina is the Head of Innovation for B2B Payments & Digital Currencies at Mastercard leading a team of product managers that partners with product, franchise, operations and technology areas to design and bring new innovative payments solutions to market alongside Mastercard’s key clients and external partners.  

Prior to Mastercard, Carolina was an Executive Director at Citi Trade and Transaction Service servicing Corporates, Financial Institutions and Public Sector clients. She held  leadership roles in the Global Payments product organization including P&L management, product development, thought leadership, and risk and regulatory  partnering with Sales, Operations and Technology, Risk Management and Legal  functions. Among her accomplishments are setting up a new cross border payments  network for over 30 markets, growing new P&L lines for payments and leading the  company’s Resolution and Recovery plan initiative through a successful outcome.  

Carolina was also a supervisor of financial institutions at the Central Bank of  Argentina during the 2002 default crisis and a strategy and operations management consultant at Deloitte and Accenture for banks and financial institutions.  

 Carolina holds an MBA from the University of Michigan, Ross School of Business and London Business School and a BA in Economics from the University of Florida, Gainesville.
